Fastrigs are automatic, freestanding rigs that capture the most wind at least cost for both smaller sailing-hybrid ships and to provide wind assistance for larger vessels.

The concept has been proven on the superyacht Maltese Falcon.  SGSA has adapted the basic concept for industrial shipping to be more rugged, lower cost, more 'workmanlike'.

This technology is suited to commercial vessels because it's freestanding rig allows access to holds. It needs no extra crew to operate it. From a safety perspective all the sail area can be dropped in a moment should the need arise.

The SGSA has brought together a team of new material technologists, yacht designers and manufacturers to design and build modular FAST tech solutions that are produced at scale to reduce unit cost.
